Class Descriptions, Attire, Schedule and Registration Information

 

Kick offers a wide variety of dance, acting, and vocal classes for all ages and abilities. It is our goal to provide the highest quality training while developing a love for the Arts. Classes are all instructed is a supportive, non competitive atmosphere. Our emphasis is placed on personal development and achieving goals

 

 

NEW FOR FALL 2008!

·        Arts Adventures Kindergarten Enrichment - New for fall, Kick is proud to offer a Kindergarten Enrichment program for both AM and PM Kindergarteners.  Our program offers Dance, art, and Theater in an educational supportive environment.  Pick-up/drop-off to Sickles is provided.

 

·        Mini Team - Mini Team is a competition team specifically designed just for young dancers ages 5 to 9. Dancers participate in 2 classes per week, one competition, and local performances at Senior Centers. For more advanced dancers, Kick offers our award winning Junior and Senior Dance Teams for ages 7 to 16.

 

·        Musical Theater Dance - Just like the title suggests, Musical Theater Dance is Broadway style! Our class explores a variety of musical theater styles. Dancers will also have the extraordinary opportunity to learn Broadway choreography.

 

·        Baby Dancers - A special class just for our youngest dancers! Baby Dancers is the perfect introduction to Dance just for kids ages 18 to 30 months. Our fun filled class features a blend of group and independent dance activities. We begin each class with stretches, plies, and releves. Parachute, bubbles, and scarf dancing are all part of the fun!

 

·        Tap - This year Kick is proud to introduce our newly expanded Tap Program featuring both classical and street tap for all ages!

 

Other Class Offerings

·        Hip HopA high energy, MTV style of Dance.

  • JazzTechnical dance that includes a high energy combination of leaps, turns, kick, and much more!
  • BalletClassical RAD Ballet taught in a contemporary style.
  • Lyrical A beautiful combination of Ballet and Jazz.
  • VocalContemporary and classical vocal techniques.
  • ActingA combination of improvisation, scene study, method acting, and theater games.

 

Attire

Appropriate dress is imperative to a young dancer’s success in class. Dancers MUST adhere to the dress code for class, or they will not be permitted to participate.  Street clothes are NEVER acceptable for class.  Please consult Vanessa at Kick before purchasing any dance shoes, as certain styles are not permitted.  All required dancewear and shoes are available for a discount at Kick.

 

·        Ballet – One leotard (no layering) and tights in any color choice. Pink ballet shoes with SEWN elastics are required. Legwarmers and skirts are acceptable.

  • Jazz/Lyrical/Musical TheaterOne leotard and jazz pants or tights. Tan slip on jazz boots required (available at Kick).
  • Hip HopOne leotard and jazz pants, biketard or dance shorts (knee pads recommended for levels 4 and up). Black dance sneakers are required.
  • Tap One Leotard and dance pants or tights.  Tan Oxford shoes are required. Skirts are allowed.

 

Registration

In-person registration Monday through Friday 8:00am to 9:30am. A registration fee of $25 per family per year is required.  Register for classes during the month of July or at our open house, August 1st and your registration fee is waived!

 

 

Fees

Rates are per family. To reserve a space in class, a $50 NON REFUNDABLE deposit per class is required. The balance is due the first day of class. Payment plans are available for families enrolled in two or more classes per week.  All classes must be paid in full no later than October 31, 2008.  Sessional fees are not refundable or transferable. A credit may be offered in cases of extended illness or injury.  Make-up classes are not offered.
